Together for Ukraine
Rebuilding lives through education.
When displacement severs professionals from their networks, credentials, and context, education infrastructure rebuilds the connection. Together for Ukraine has spent three years building that infrastructure.
Since 2022, we've delivered comprehensive programmes serving 20,000+ Ukrainians: professional mentorship, language learning, digital skills certification, community integration, children's education, veteran support, women's entrepreneurship, university infrastructure, and youth development.
Each programme addresses a specific barrier. Together, they form pathways from displacement to stability.

Active Programmes
Professional guidance from people who know the territory.
Ukrainian professionals have capability. What they lack is networks in unfamiliar markets. A finance director understands corporate finance but not Berlin hiring practices. A marketing manager has a decade of experience but no LinkedIn connections in Oslo.
Mentors for Ukraine bridges that gap. The platform connects Ukrainian professionals with experienced mentors across technology, finance, marketing, HR, project management, design, law, and entrepreneurship. Sessions run forty-five minutes to an hour over video. Real questions, direct answers.
The platform operates on a self-serve model. Mentees browse mentor profiles, see expertise and availability, and book directly. No applications. No queues. No coordinator deciding whether the match is appropriate. Mentors set their own schedules and adjust as life changes. The platform handles scheduling, reminders, and follow-up.
Sessions address what courses cannot teach: which companies actually hire remotely, how CVs read differently in different markets, which certifications local employers value, what makes candidates stand out. One conversation with someone who hires in your field can redirect months of misdirected effort.
Exposed pipeline to employment outcomes.
Language Connect for Ukraine
Conversation Practice
Fluency comes from speaking. Not studying.
Language proficiency determines employment outcomes. A software developer with B2 English earns more than the same developer with A2 English. The difference is not technical skill. It is communication.
Classroom instruction builds foundations. Conversation practice builds fluency. Language Connect provides the practice layer that formal education cannot deliver at scale.
Ukrainian learners connect one-on-one with volunteer conversation partners from around the world for live video sessions. No curriculum. No tests. No pressure. Just practice: job interview preparation, professional communication, daily navigation, or building confidence through real conversation.
Volunteers set their own availability and adjust as schedules change. Learners browse available partners, see languages and time zones, and book directly. The commitment is flexible. One hour a week or ten. Whatever fits.
For many participants, these sessions are the first time they've spoken their target language with a real person outside a classroom. That shift from studying to communicating changes everything.
Language Courses
Structured Instruction
Structure. Progression. Credentials.
Some learners need more than conversation. They need grammar instruction, error correction, systematic vocabulary, and documented progression. They need rigorous education that professional goals require.
Language Courses delivers formal instruction through experienced volunteer teachers, supported by content partnerships with leading educational publishers. Courses run two to three sessions weekly over eight to twelve weeks. Live classes. Assignments. Progress tracking. Completion certificates that document demonstrated proficiency.
- Oxford University Press: English curriculum materials.
- Babbel: Platform access for self-directed learning.
- itslearning: Course delivery and grade tracking.
- BOOKR Class: Animated books for children.
Teachers bring their own methodology or use TEEI-provided curricula. Learners advance through defined levels from beginner to advanced. Certificates document achievement at each stage.
Upskilling
Digital Certification
Digital skills that create employment.
The global technology sector operates without borders. A data analyst in Lviv can work for a company in London. A cybersecurity specialist can support infrastructure anywhere. Geography is not the barrier. Verified, current credentials are.
Upskilling programmes build those credentials through structured training from industry-leading platforms. Data analytics through DataCamp. Cybersecurity and IT operations through Splunk. Process automation through Automation Anywhere. These are capabilities that produce job offers in roles employers actively struggle to fill.
Participants follow structured learning paths from fundamentals through specialisation to certification. Career support integrates throughout: portfolio development, interview preparation, CV review, and connections to employers hiring for remote positions.
Completion is not the objective. Employment is. Every training pathway connects to identifiable roles with demonstrable market demand.
Buddy Program
Integration
Oslo, Stavanger, Bergen, Trondheim, Kristiansand, Drammen
Integration starts with one friend.
Employment requires skills. Integration requires relationships. Understanding local culture, reading social signals, knowing where locals actually go, having someone to text when nothing makes sense: these happen through human connection, not courses.
The Buddy Program pairs Ukrainians in Norway with local residents for ongoing friendship and mutual support. Not mentorship. Not charity. Friendship between equals.
Buddies are matched based on location and shared interests, then left to build relationships on their own terms. Some meet weekly for coffee. Others hike together on weekends. Some share dinners with families. Activities emerge naturally: neighbourhood exploration, sporting events, cooking, cultural activities, or simply conversation.
The programme provides initial structure: matching, orientation, suggested activities. Then it steps back. Group events bring participants together for community building. But the core is the one-on-one connection that makes a foreign place feel like home.
Completed & Specialized Initiatives
Since 2022, TEEI has deployed rapid-response infrastructure to address immediate needs. These programmes have delivered critical support during the height of displacement and are now transitioning or completed.
Online Ukrainian School
Education continuity when families fled.
When millions of Ukrainians became refugees, children's education stopped mid-semester. The Online Ukrainian School restored it. Ukrainian teachers delivered the official national curriculum through live online classes. Children across Europe continued their education in their native language, maintaining academic progress and cultural connection while their families rebuilt elsewhere.
Courses followed Ukrainian Ministry of Education standards. Delivery happened through our itslearning platform. Children kept learning. Disruption was minimised. Academic trajectories were preserved.
National curriculum. Qualified Ukrainian teachers. Students served across Europe.
Digital Academy for Veterans
Civilian careers for those who served.
Ukrainian veterans face a double transition: from military to civilian life, and from a war-affected economy to international employment. The Digital Academy addresses both.
Developed in partnership with the Ukrainian Ministry of Veteran Affairs, the programme provides digital skills training and employment support for veterans and their immediate families. Participants build credentials in technologies that international employers value, with career guidance tailored to the specific challenges of military-to-civilian transition.
Ministry of Veteran Affairs partnership. Digital certification tracks. Employment support.
Women's Entrepreneurship Programme
Business development across the entrepreneurial journey.
Ukrainian women founders face compounded challenges: displacement, disrupted networks, unfamiliar markets, and the universal difficulties of building a business. The Women's Entrepreneurship Programme provides structured support across every stage.
Programmes combine self-paced learning, expert-led sessions, mentorship, and peer cohorts. Digital-first delivery accommodates participants across multiple countries.
University Support Programme
Infrastructure for Ukrainian higher education.
Ukrainian universities faced existential challenges: damaged facilities, displaced faculty, severed connectivity, interrupted funding. Education continued because institutions received operational support.
TEEI provided hardware, software, learning management system access, administrative support, and international fundraising coordination. When institutions faced impossible conditions, we helped keep them functioning.
7 partner universities. Hardware, software, and systems provided. International fundraising coordination.
Youth Programmes
Education and enterprise for young Ukrainians.
Young people affected by war need pathways to education and economic participation. Youth Programmes provide those pathways through partnership with the Ukrainian Ministry of Sports and Youth.
- Support for Youth Centres Educational and civic programmes integrating internally displaced young people through Ukraine's national youth centre network.
- Tech Academy for Youth Digital skills training adapted for younger learners. Building capabilities that create future opportunities.
- Youth Entrepreneurship Business education, mentorship, and grants for young founders. Supporting the next generation of Ukrainian entrepreneurs.

Healing for children and families.
War affects children in ways that require specialised support. Recovery Camps provide psychological rehabilitation through programmes that combine therapeutic activities, education, and community rebuilding. Delivered with Ukrainian partner organisations.
4,000+ children reached. 2,500+ families supported.
Books for Kids
Ukrainian literature for displaced families.
In partnership with Shevchenko Central Library for Kids, Ukraine's largest children's library, Together for Ukraine supported Ukrainian Books Without Borders: distributing Ukrainian-language children's books to displaced families across Europe.
Literacy and cultural connection for the youngest affected population.
TEEI Open University
