Equality Through Education
We build digital infrastructure that turns educational inequality into opportunity—connecting displaced communities with pathways to economic independence.
To democratize access to world-class education for displaced and underserved communities through technology-driven programs that build sustainable pathways to economic opportunity.
A world where educational opportunity is determined by talent and determination, not by geography or circumstance.
Talent is everywhere. Access is not.
Millions of talented individuals face systemic barriers that prevent them from reaching their potential. We exist to dismantle those barriers.
Geographic Displacement
War, conflict, and economic instability force millions from their homes, severing access to education and career pathways.
Language Barriers
Critical resources and opportunities remain inaccessible to those who don't speak dominant languages.
Economic Inequality
The cost of quality education creates insurmountable barriers for those who need it most.
Technology Gaps
Limited digital infrastructure excludes entire communities from modern educational opportunities.
Systemic Exclusion
Traditional education systems fail to recognize and validate diverse backgrounds and experiences.
The Reality
100 million+ people displaced globally, many with advanced degrees and professional experience.
85% of refugees live in developing countries with limited educational infrastructure.
Digital education could reach 1 billion+ learners if language and access barriers were removed.
We're building the infrastructure to make this possible.
What We Build
TEEI operates proven digital platforms that turn support into progress, and progress into pathways.
Buddy Program
Connection that keeps people learning
Language Learning
Language that unlocks participation
Skills Academy
Skills that translate into opportunity
"These are not standalone projects. They are designed as a pathway."
How Our Pathway Works
We focus on the sequence that makes outcomes more likely.
Especially for women navigating multiple constraints.
Start with connection
The Buddy Program pairs participants with trained volunteers who provide consistent support and accountability, reducing isolation and increasing retention.
Build participation through language
Language Connect provides structured English instruction paired with conversation practice, removing the language barrier that often prevents economic participation.
Add skills, structure, and mentorship
The Skills Academy focuses on employable technical skills—like data analysis or bookkeeping—delivered through mentorship and designed for flexible learning around caregiving.
This is how we build long-term change with limited resources: a structured pathway, delivered digitally, designed for retention.
Who We Serve
TEEI works with people facing systemic barriers to education and opportunity
Girls and Women Worldwide
Particularly in contexts where language exclusion, geographic isolation, or patriarchal systems limit access to learning and professional growth.
Ukrainians Affected by War
People who lost access to education, employment, and networks due to displacement, infrastructure collapse, and ongoing trauma.
Under-served Learners in the United States and Latin America
Communities where language isolation, digital access gaps, and economic insecurity create barriers to higher education and skilled employment.
"Our model was built for girls and women. It was proven at scale through Ukraine."
Proof at Scale
Built for Girls and Women. Proven in Ukraine.
TEEI's programs were designed to overcome barriers that disproportionately affect girls and women: language exclusion, digital access gaps, geographic isolation, and systemic gender discrimination.
When Russia's war on Ukraine caused the world's fastest-growing displacement crisis since WWII, TEEI's model was uniquely suited to respond. Over three years, we worked with 20,000+ displaced Ukrainians — proving our approach works at scale under the most challenging conditions imaginable.
They did not rely on physical infrastructure (which had been destroyed or made inaccessible).
They prioritized human connection at scale (rebuilding networks and social capital torn apart by war).
They could be delivered entirely online — meeting people where they were, not where we wished they could be.
What That Looked Like in Practice
These numbers represent more than program outputs. They represent proof that a new model for educational equity can work — one that does not require permanent physical infrastructure, massive capital investment, or geographic proximity to opportunity.
Strategic Expansion
Expanding Where the Same Barriers Persist
The barriers faced in Ukraine — language exclusion, digital access gaps, disrupted networks, geographic isolation — are not unique.
They exist for millions of girls and women worldwide who face patriarchal systems, economic insecurity, or displacement due to conflict, climate change, or political instability.
They exist across the United States and Latin America, where systemic inequalities create invisible walls between communities and opportunity.
Our Next Chapter
Over the next five years, TEEI will expand its proven model to serve displaced communities in Ukraine and underserved populations across the Americas — particularly girls and women facing language barriers, digital exclusion, and systemic discrimination.
We are not starting from scratch. We are scaling what already works.
Our Principles
What Guides Our Work
Focus over fragmentation
We prioritise programmes that are operating well, then we refine, expand and professionalise them to increase their impact and reach, rather than funding new pilots and one-off initiatives.
Infrastructure over one-off projects
We build platforms and pathways that connect people, knowledge and resources for long-term and sustained impact.
Human connection plus digital delivery
Technology increases access and removes barriers, but meaningful learning and support happens through genuine human relationships.
Clarity and accountability
We communicate what we do, why we do it and what the results are. We hold ourselves accountable to the people we work with and the donors who support our programmes.
