Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these steps to submit your matching gift request through Combined Federal Campaign.

  1. 1

    Log in to CFC Nexus

The Combined Federal Campaign uses the CFC Nexus portal at cfcgiving.opm.gov. You'll authenticate through Login.gov—the same system used for USAJOBS, SSA, and IRS services.

Some agency firewalls block cfcgiving.opm.gov. Ask your IT team to whitelist: cfcgiving.tascfc.sso.com. You can also pledge from home on a personal device.
  2. 2

    Enter Our CFC Code

Here's the insider tip: Don't waste time typing organization names into the CFC search. The search is notoriously buggy. Enter our 5-digit CFC Code instead—you'll find us in seconds.

Select 'The Educational Equality Institute' headquartered in New York, NY. We are a registered US 501(c)(3), EIN 33-2331817.
  3. 3

Choose 'Payroll Deduction' for Easy Giving

CFC offers the easiest tax-advantaged giving for federal employees. Payroll deduction spreads your gift across the year with no extra paperwork—and you never miss it.

Why Payroll Deduction? It's pre-tax (reduces your taxable income), automatic (no remembering to donate), and spread across the year (easier on your budget). $50/paycheck = over $1,200/year of impact.
  4. 4

    Submit & Track Your Pledge

After selecting TEEI and your giving method, review your pledge and submit. You'll receive a confirmation email, and you can track your giving throughout the year in CFC Nexus.

You Can Also Pledge Volunteer Time! CFC Nexus allows federal employees to pledge volunteer hours to approved charities.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC)?

The CFC is the official workplace giving program for federal employees, military personnel, USPS workers, and federal retirees. It's managed by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) and allows you to donate to thousands of approved charities through payroll deduction or one-time gifts.

When is the CFC campaign season?

The CFC typically runs from September through January each year. Pledges made during the campaign take effect in the following calendar year. You can modify your pledge during the campaign period.

Can military members participate in CFC?

Yes! Active duty, reserve, and National Guard members across all branches can participate. Military retirees receiving federal retirement pay can also give through CFC.

Is my CFC donation tax-deductible?

Yes. Donations to 501(c)(3) organizations like TEEI through CFC are tax-deductible. If you use payroll deduction, the donations are automatically documented for tax purposes.

What's the minimum donation?

CFC allows pledges as low as $1 per pay period. However, most donors find $5-$25 per paycheck manageable and impactful over a year.

Can federal retirees give through CFC?

Yes! Federal retirees can make one-time donations or set up recurring gifts through CFC Nexus. Retirees use the same cfcgiving.opm.gov portal and Login.gov authentication.

I can't access CFC Nexus from my work computer. What do I do?

Some agency firewalls block the CFC site. You can: (1) Ask IT to whitelist cfcgiving.tascfc.sso.com, (2) Use a personal device at home, or (3) Use the CFC Giving mobile app.
