What a session looks like

Language Connect

Maryia logs in Tuesday at 18:00. She talks with Ashley from London for 45 minutes. They practise job interview phrases in English. Next week they'll practise phone calls with the kindergarten. Ashley corrects pronunciation and suggests better phrasing. No textbook. No test. Just a conversation with someone who cares.

Oksana, Language Connect learner

Mentors for Ukraine

Oleksii is an engineer. He was matched with Marcus, a senior engineer at Siemens in Munich. Marcus went through Oleksii's CV, removed Ukrainian formatting that doesn't work in Germany, added keywords German recruiters search for, and practised three common interview questions in German. After 4 sessions, Oleksii applied to 12 positions. He got 3 interviews.

Between sessions

The person you refer is not left on their own after the first session.

  • Kintell has built-in messaging between participant and volunteer
  • Participants book their next session before the current one ends
  • The platform sends session reminders automatically
  • No personal contact info exchanged — everything stays on Kintell
  • Participants can switch volunteers or pause at any time

Recognition

Participants earn badges and certificates as they progress. Certificates are verifiable and can be added directly to LinkedIn. Useful for job applications and integration documentation.

Questions

How long until my participant gets matched?

Most browse available volunteers and book their first session within 3-7 days. Popular time slots may take slightly longer.

Do I need to fill out any forms?

No. Share a link. The person you refer handles their own registration. No intake paperwork, no follow-up required from your side.

Can I track referral outcomes?

Not individually. If you become a formal partner, we share aggregate statistics about registrations from your referrals.

What languages are available?

English, German, Polish, Norwegian, French, Italian, Spanish, and more. Availability depends on current volunteer capacity.

Is there a minimum commitment?

No. Participants choose their pace — weekly, bi-weekly, or as needed. They can pause or stop at any time.

What if someone needs certified translation?

We provide informal practice, not certified translation. For official documents, refer to certified services in your jurisdiction.

Can I refer groups?

Yes. Share the link with as many people as needed. Each person registers individually and gets matched separately.

What platform do participants use?

Kintell — free, browser-based, no download required. Works on any device with a camera and internet. Available in Ukrainian and English.

Is this available outside Europe?

Yes. Fully online, available in 50+ countries. Participants need internet access and a device with a camera.

Do participants receive any certificates?

Yes. Participants earn badges and certificates based on the number of sessions they complete. Certificates are verifiable and can be added directly to their LinkedIn profile — useful for job applications and integration documentation.

How do I become a formal referral partner?
