The Educational Equality Institute (TEEI) is thrilled to announce a transformative partnership with Shout Out UK, a leading organization in political and media literacy for young people. This collaboration heralds the launch of a specialized media literacy program, tailored for Ukrainian youth and integrated into our broader Together for Ukraine initiative.

Shout Out UK has made a notable impact on over 30,000 young individuals across the UK. Its programs equip youth with essential skills such as critical thinking, analytical capabilities, and emotional resilience, which are crucial for challenging misinformation effectively.
Program Goals and Curriculum
Equipping Ukrainian Youth with Media Literacy
Drawing on Shout Out UK’s extensive experience, our new program is meticulously crafted to equip Ukrainian youth to recognize and counteract propaganda and misinformation online. The curriculum will cover critical topics including:
- Far-right extremist threats
- Conspiracy theories
- Online radicalization
- Hate speech
This initiative positions media literacy as the first line of defense against the proliferation of extremist rhetoric online, aiming to equip young Ukrainians with the tools necessary to discern credible information in a complex media landscape.
Expanded Educational Opportunities
Enhancing Skills with Professional Mentoring and Upskilling
In addition to media literacy, our collaboration will include professional mentoring and upskilling programs. For young Ukrainians who want to build technical careers, the DataCamp partnership has given 10,000+ students free access to data science training. Adults navigating new host-country labour markets benefit from the Mentors for Ukraine programme, which matches displaced professionals with 400+ volunteer mentors from international companies. Language confidence underpins participation in all these programmes—Language Connect for Ukraine provides free 1-to-1 conversation practice to help learners communicate effectively in their new environment.
